     I found a very rare photo: Yesteryear actress Lakshmi wearing Lungi Blouse and Thorthu. She was one of the most beautiful actress of her generation and had acted in Malayalam, Telugu and Tamil. The name of the movie is unknown; I haven't seen this particular movie. If you can help out with the name then it would be great.

You guys must have heard of the movie, 'Nirakazhcha'. It was made to promote Kerala Tourism. A trailer was released long back called 'In Love with Kerala' as a promotional video for this movie. In that video the lead lady wore Lungi Blouse and Thorthu. It definitely shows that this dress is considered equal to Set-Saree or Set-Mundu by foreigners. They dont have any preconceptions about a woman or girl in Lungi Blouse and Thorthu other than that this lady or girl is native to Kerala. It is just like any other native attire. Women should be encouraged to wear this attire before its lost to history.

Hi all,
I think out of the new generation actresses, Bhama is the one who has adorned Lungi Blouse the most .She has worn it for few scenes in two movies and for a dance number for AMMA stage show (you can find the photos of it in my other post). Here are the photos that I found of her in Lungi Blouse. Must admit Traditional dresses like Saree, Set Mundu, Lungi Blouse makes her look more beautiful than when she wears modern dresses.

  I had this week end all by myself;  my girlfriend had some work at office. I thought of spending my time watching some good movies. After watching ,like three Hollywood movies at a stretch, I thought it would be refreshing to watch something in malayalam. I am a huge fan of Indrajith and so decided to watch one of his old flicks.

I was happy to come across the movie called 'Oruvan'. Indrajith had done a wonderful job. I loved the way he and Lal acted in it. Surprisingly, whole through the movie the leading lady, Meera Vasudev, wore Lungi Blouse and Thorthu. That's something very rare in mainstream movies (if it is not a period story).

From what I have heard of her, she is a completely modern lady and yet she managed to manage that dress beautifully..nothing gross at all. Here are the photos of her from the movie that I found online. Wonder if women folk are noticing it. This attire is NOT bad at all.

I recently saw an event called Sooryathejasode Amma by the Malayalam Film Artists. In one of the dance events of the program, young malayalam actresses came dressed in Lungi Blouse.
