I recently saw an event called Sooryathejasode Amma by the Malayalam Film Artists. In one of the dance events of the program, young malayalam actresses came dressed in Lungi Blouse. It was a feast for the eyes. It is always nice to see young generation of girls wearing this traditional attire. Here are the photos for you lads.

ReplyDeleteRemember the old TV commercial of kitex with a jingle - 'Lungi konduva'. featuring a beautiful lady wearing lungi blouse and thorthu carring a basket on one side...we missed those visuals these days..
recently In a movie poster of Dr. padmasree saroj kumar..i saw a similar photographs of ladies wearing lungi and thorthu carrying baskets walking through the beach. very rarely watching those costumes in these day's movies and advertisements.
Thanks for your comment. True that we dont get to see this costume much in the movies and advertisements. Its mostly because its out of fashion and women dont wear it in everyday life. I just hope there is a shift in the trends and women start wearing this beautiful dress again.
