Hi all,
It's been long since I posted.
Last few months weren't the best ones. Finally I have time to blog again.
I have moved back to my native village and plans to be here for a while. I am starting over my life; our life - both Saranya's and mine. Both of us have quit our jobs and plan to take a long break from cooperate life.
I will try to keep updating the blog more frequently now that I got more spare time.
Today, I am sharing pics of one of my favorite actresses , Jyothirmayi. I happen to come across these pic on net and yes, she is wearing lungi, blouse and thorthu. The thing I like about these photos is that unlike the other pics I shared or other pics I have seen online of women or girls in lungi blouse and thorthu, she is dressed like some one who works in this dress; it's not new, it's not neat nor fresh. And this is what it is all about. Saranya always say that lungi is the dress you can get dirty in. It is the dress you can work in and look dirty, it's not what you wear to a party or to a mall. It's what you wear when you are ready to get muddy or you want to be comfortable moving around not caring about style or fashion.
Feel free to share your thoughts. Negative or positive; comments are welcome.

Not a fashion statement but a life style. |

Nice blog. I think its the colors that makes is sexy ..so many combinations possible... I wish girls go back to wearing this dress..nothing beats this dress and set mundu when it comes to sexiness...
ReplyDeleteI love to wear this dress. Can you tell me what's ur favorite color OR pattern?
DeleteI am not sure if both the posts are from the same person.. it doesnt sound like so thanks to both for dropping by and commenting.
DeleteTo first anonymous : yes. I feel the same too.. I think this costume is the most sexy.
To second anonymous : My wife wears this dress like any other. She wears it mostly at home and so she really doesnt care about the styling.. but usually it is any color blouse(normal , non-fancy ones) , white/kavi mundu and thorthu (usually white).. while she is out in the farm, she prefers lungi/kallimundu (any pattern- mostly dark colored) and colored or white thorthu... My favorite.. any of the above.. she just looks super gorgeous and sexy in any of these attires.. :)

Thanks for your kind reply and thanks for sharing this wonderful topic. I am the second anonymous.... I am trying to send replies with my ID but It doesn't work that is why I choose anonymous. I am the member of this page....I know about lungi, but don't know about kavi white. I am from capital and I am willing to learn more about south.....it's interesting and unique. Cheers :-)
DeleteThis anonymous is me and now my id is working fine.
DeleteI hope now my id is working.
ReplyDeleteHi Rohit,
ReplyDeleteI am neither of the above anonymous'. I prefer to hide my identity because I am a closeted wearer of this dress. None of my frnds know that I like wearing lungi blouse even though few of them have seen me in this dress.
I am not from a village and never had anyone around who wore this dress. I always wanted lead a simple rustic village life and this dress ,for me, felt like a gateway for it.
my parents arent aware of my interest and I am shy to tell them. I do wear this occasionally in my bedroom and also around the house when alone. Thats how I like to spend my time alone at home: i wear lungi blouse and go about my daily chores as if nothing is different. Occasionally i do move around in the balcony in this dress, it is kind of exciting. I really want to wear this dress in the open. The only time came any closer was last onam day when i was getting ready and was wearing set mundu and had to go outside to get mullapoo from the neighbor chechi.. I went to their place wearing mundu blouse and thorthu..
I wish this dress becomes mainstream fashion. I would love to come out of closet about this.
My story is almost same like you, but few friends of mine knows that I prefer wearing lungi. And I am not that shy to wear, but in my city people don't wear lungi. I want to visit that place where girls can wear this as national dress. I love to take selfie when I wear lungi and blouse. I don't want to hide my passion just in my heart. Cheers!
DeleteMy wife usually wear lungi in house and i like to see her in that dress
ReplyDeleteYes..most men enjoy it.. Was she interest in wearing it by herself or did you ask her to wear it? And how old are you guys? We havent seen too many young couples interested in this attire.
DeleteI am the one who love to see my gf wearing lungi. And she made my dream come true. Can't explain how I felt at that time.....I felt great but I never showed my excitement on my face. We are also young cpl but she didn't know that I love to see her in lungi.
DeleteNow I am learning new things about males and their taste. :-) I like to read all your topics.
